Don't Forget

In the business of the world, so many people rush by You. They forget You. They might claim You, but... they forget You.

He got out of the van, looking the picture of charismatic, late at night, sunglasses covering deep eyes, camera lights flashing and assistants buzzing around him, fans squealing. He felt alone, even in all this. Walking quickly, he went towards the door, stubbornly strangling the thought echoing in his mind: "Surely there's more?"

She flopped on the bed, stuffing earbuds in and cranking up the volume, crowding out the yelling of her angry mom.
"What does she know?" She sneered. Again she screamed dirty words at her parent.
Once the door slammed, the music blasting away in her ears, she turned it up even louder, ignoring the guilt, muffling the fact: "You claim Christ - is this the way you should act?"

He let her entice him. Those eyes... they were so beautiful. If only he could touch her...
Alone in the office, she walked in, saying flirtatious things. He sat at the desk, a single bead of sweat rolled down his face. She stood behind him and ran her hand through his hair. His eyes darted to the picture of him and his wife on the desktop - "You claim Christ... get out." He killed it. Leaning forward with one swift movement, he turned the photo face down on the counter, stood, and gave in.
But... he claimed Christ, didn't he?

She signed the last signature on a divorce paper, throwing the pen across the room at her husband.
"You never do anything around here! I'm sick of you! Aaron is a far better man than you are!" The words broke his heart. She turned, taking up her bags, slamming the door behind her. Her new lover waited in the car.
From inside she heard her ex scream her name... but she closed her ears to her conscious. "The unfaithful bride... unfaithful bride."
Didn't she claim Christ?

So many are unfaithful. And I admit, even I am at times. I get so wrapped up in other things that I forget.
Lord, please... help those that have forgotten you. Even though they may for a time, You're ever there, and "You know Your sheep" and "You will loose none that the Father has given You."

In the end, You win. In the end, You save.
Amen.
